What is the fate of plastics once we place them in our recycling bins?

Plastic China (2014, 82 mins) follows the plastics recycling chain that often ends in China. China is the world’s largest importer and processor of plastic waste, much of which comes from the United States, Australia, Western Europe, South Korea and Japan. This film documents the water, air, and human health impacts of the plastics recycling process, and raises the question: How toxic is our plastic footprint? More information about the film can be found at www.plasticchina.org.

Doors will open at 6:00 and the movie starts at 6:30. Staff from the City of Livermore Environmental Services Division will be available to answer questions.

For more information visit www.LivermoreRecycles.org or call the City of Livermore Recycling Helpline at 925-960-8015.
